Diandre Ayton is one of the top centers in the league. He is a two-way player, able to defend the rim using his athleticism, as well as an elite interior game to the offensive end. During the 2021-22 regular season, Deandre Ayton averaged 17.2 PPG, 10.2 RPG, and 1.4 APG.
Despite his personal talents, it is likely that Phoenix will release Sun Diandre Ayton into the free agency. The Detroit Pistons is a franchise that Ayton has often linked to, which has recently been named one of the most realistic landing spots for him.
Outside of Phoenix, Ayton’s most realistic landing spots are Atlanta, Detroit and Toronto, which will present interesting sign-and-trade opportunities for all suns.
A recent report by NBA insider Mark Stein suggests that Diandre Ayton will be “embracing” Detroit Piston Guard as part of a “new dynamic pairing” with Ced Cunningham.
According to Mark Stein, Diandre Eaton will create a new dynamic duo with Ked Cunningham on the piston.
There is no doubt that Diandre Ayton and Ked Cunningham could be one of the best couples in the league a few years from now. Both are still young and could develop into true star-level players in the future, and it’s easy to see why Diandre Ayton is curious about the possibility of joining the Detroit Pistons from a basketball perspective.
Of course, there are other franchises that have realistic options to join if Diandre Ayton wants a bigger role than the Phoenix Sons. But the Detroit Pistons will definitely be one of the best options and they can also give Aiton a lucrative deal. It remains to be seen how Deandre Ayton’s free agency will unfold, but it’s not surprising if he joins the Pistons.
