World markets sold off Friday, a day after the Dow industrials had its worst point loss since the 2008 financial crisis. The Dow tumbled 512 points Thursday -- its ninth deepest point drop ever -- as fear about the global economy spooked investors. The selling spilled into overseas markets early Friday. Japan's Nikkei (N225) closed down 3.72%, while Australia's All Ordinaries (XAO) slid more than 4%.

U.S. stocks plunged more than 2% Thursday, as investors remain on edge about the global economy. The Dow Jones industrial average (INDU) dropped 240 points, or 2%, with Alcoa (AA, Fortune 500), Caterpillar (CAT, Fortune 500) and Bank of America (BAC, Fortune 500) among the biggest drags on the blue chip index. The S&P 500 (SPX) dropped 30 points, or 2.4% and the Nasdaq (COMP) lost 71 points, or 2.7%.

Norway has been plagued with numerous terror attacks recently as Oslo was shook last Friday when a huge blast outside government buildings killed 8-people. Almost two-hours after the Norway bombing, a gunman on Utoya island proceeded to shoot at participants in a teenage political summer camp killing 68-people. Numerous reporters from Norway have continued to question the police response time to the situations as it took almost an hour for authorities to arrive and arrest suspect 32-year-old Anders Behring Breivik.
